State says it will speed up money transfer to Flint for Detroit water

FLINT, MI — The state says it will speed up funding to help Flint buy Detroit water. The promise came less than 24 hours after top city officials said the cash was needed now — not in 2016.

Sara Wurfel, a spokeswoman for Gov. Rick Snyder, said Flint should receive $4 million in one or two business days.ater but that project is not expected to be completed until mid 2016. [...]
